- Option 1: Taipei City Tour
- The National Palace Museum The National Palace Museum is a world-class museum that hosts an eclectic collection of treasures kept by generations of Emperors ruling from the Forbidden City. The entire collection covers 5,000 years of China's historical and artistic achievements. In recent years the Museum’s digital presence and use of new technologies has developed, resulting in the creation of several new exhibitions and spaces within the Museum dedicated to new media including a permanent Multimedia Gallery of Painting and Calligraphy.
- Longshan temple :In Longshan temple, you can see how religious power support people to achieve such great temple with exquisite craftsmanship. Decorations are widely used to worship the gods. The carving on the column is not only delicate but also meaningful－some of them represent the folk stories that tell people to be kind and merciful while some of them show the art of calligraphy. The sculptures on the roof are some imaginary creature which was considered to bring good luck and protect people in ancient China. With the tour guide, you will learn abundant knowledge about our culture.
- Dadaocheng Wandering in the Dadaocheng area, you will find different styles of 100-year-old buildings everywhere, from Southern Fujian style to mock Baroque style architecture. Take a walk back in time along the vintage corridor and arcade, feeling the unique atmosphere in the new creative space.
- Taipei 101 :Taipei 101 has been the world's tallest building. The building has the imagination of bamboo, which represents humble and gentlemen in traditional Chinese culture. Go up to the observatory, you can view Taipei City at 382 meters above the ground. The day view is amazing and the night view is even more breathtaking. You also can meet a huge Wind Damper first. It is designed for keeping Taipei 101 stable when the earthquake or typhoon are happening.
- Chiang Kai Shek Memorial :Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall is an important landmark for Taiwan’s democratic progress. It is also where the National Theater and Concert Hall locates. Liberty Square in the front gate is the must-visit spot in Taiwan. The bigness and stable design of the Chinese traditional palace are worth seeing and taking a photo. You can see the guards change on the hour. The soldiers perform the ceremonial salute so precisely that you would have your eye fixed on the whole process
- Elephant Mountain Take a walk along the hiking trail, you can view Taipei city from different perspective and see how Taipei is embrace by mountains. Elephant Mountain is a popular spot for photographers and also a perfect place to see the night view of Taipei. Tourist will be marveled at the breathtaking scene－the lights in Taipei are like fallen stars on the ground, outshining the night sky.
- Option 2: Taipei Food Tour
- The last thing to do to spend your layover time is to eat and wander at the tax-free stores at the airport! A trip to Taiwan is not complete without enjoying the local foods.
