Day 1 :
Taipei transfers to Sun Moon Lake
Departing from Taipei City Taiwan, this tour takes you on a scenic journey through two of Taiwan’s most iconic destinations: Sun Moon Lake and Alishan. Begin your adventure at Sun Moon Lake, where you’ll cruise across turquoise waters, visit the picturesque Wenwu Temple, and stroll around charming lakeside villages. Don’t forget to try the famous Sun Moon Lake black tea grown in this region!
Sun Moon Lake accommodations: 1 overnight stay at a 4-star hotel, or equivalent.
Day 2 :
Sun Moon Lake transfers to Alishan
Visit the Alishan Forest Area and take a scenic train ride through the lush forest. It’s a breathtaking natural wonderland nestled in Chiayi. You are enchanted by its towering ancient cypress trees, and vibrant sunrise vistas, offering a serene escape and a glimpse into the beauty of Taiwan’s wilderness. It’s a must-visit destination for nature lovers!
Alishan accommodations: Bed and breakfast or equivalent (full refund if fully booked.) Accommodation is at a cozy local Airbnb about 30 minutes by car from the Alishan Forest Recreation Area. If the listed Airbnb is unavailable, a similar nearby stay will be arranged. Hotels inside Alishan Forest Area require an upgrade fee (Contact us for booking.)
Day 3 :
Alishan – Hinoki Village – Taichung – Taipei
The next morning is one of the highlights of the trip: watching the Alishan sunrise. Experience the magical Alishan sunrise, where golden rays pierce through the mist, transforming the lush valleys into a breathtaking masterpiece. The sunrise will be viewed near the accommodation, offering a quieter experience. Next, journey to Hinoki Village, wander through hinoki-lined pathways, explore charming boutique shops, and soak in the nostalgic beauty of this enchanting mountain village.
On the way back to Taipei, you can choose to stop in Taichung for Taiwan cuisine (lunch not included) or head straight to a night market in Taipei for an evening street food in Taiwan adventure!
