【Travel Authorization Certificate】

  1. Citizens of Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam can apply online for an R.O.C. (Taiwan) Travel Authorization Certificate.

  • Nationals of aforementioned countries intending to submit an online application for such a certificate should carefully read the following:

Basic Requirements

  1. The applicant’s passport must have remaining validity of at least six months starting from the date of arrival in Taiwan.
  2. The applicant must possess an onward/return air or ferry ticket.
  3. The applicant has never been employed as a blue-collar worker in Taiwan.

Additional Requirements

  1. The applicant possesses at least one of the following documents issued by Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of the EU and Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States
    1. Valid resident or permanent resident card
    2. Valid entry visa (may be electronic visa)
    3. Resident card or visa that has expired less than 10 years prior to the date of arrival in Taiwan
  2. Applicants who use an electronic visa issued by Australia or New Zealand as the required document must present the valid Australia or New Zealand electronic visa as entering Taiwan.
  3. Applicants who use a visa issued by Japan as the required document must present the proof record of entering Japan or a confirmed onward ticket to Japan when entering Taiwan.

【Visitor Visas】

  • Information on Visitor Visas
Eligible PersonsForeign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other legal travel documents and who intend to stay in Taiwan for no more than six months for the purposes of transit; tour; visit relatives; undertake visits; undertake inspection tours; attend international conferences; conduct business; pursue short-term study; undertake short-term employment; undertake short-term missionary work; and engage in other activities in the ROC as approved by MOFA..
Requirements1. A passport valid for at least six months;
2. A duly completed application form with two photos taken within the past six months;
3. An outbound airline ticket or verifiable proof of purchase of steamship ticket;
4. Documents verifying the purpose of visit; and
5. Other relevant documents.
Visa Validity1. For foreign nationals from the countries with which the ROC has entered into reciprocal visa agreements, the validity of their Visitor Visas shall be decided in accordance with these agreements.
2. For other foreign nationals, a Visitor Visa is generally valid from three months up to one year.
Duration of stay1. Fourteen days
2. Thirty days
3. Sixty days
4. Ninety days
Fee1. For foreign nationals from the countries with which the ROC
has entered into reciprocal visa agreements, the visa is issued
gratis.
2. For visa fees of American passport holders and other foreign
nationals, please refer to “Standard Fees for Republic of
China (Taiwan) Visas in Foreign Passports.
RemarksVisitor Visa holders who are permitted to stay in Taiwan for 60 or 90 days and whose visas bear no such remark as “no extension will be granted” may apply at local service centers of the National Immigration Agency for a maximum of 120 or 90 days of extensions.
