Transportation to Jiufen

Finishing a Taipei private tour would not be the end of travel in the northern Taiwan. You may take public transportation (by train and transfer to buses) from Taipei to Jiufen or by a more convenient mean-book a Jiufen tour and private car for better getting to several destinations. Moreover, located in the hills, Jiufen features much rain; therefore, please don’t forget to bring your umbrellas and raincoats.

Jiufen Old Street (九份老街)

Needless to say, when you reserve Taiwan tour packages to Jiufen, perhaps roaming at this old street is the itinerary that cannot be missed out. And in many travelers’ minds, “nostalgia” would be the keyword that best describes the characteristics of this tourist attraction. Walking along Jishan Street (基山街), also called “small alley”, you may take a glimpse of some brick-made houses tinged with old Japanese style; many travelers would stop at several stores and stands to try Taiwanese typical foods, such as taro balls, fish ball soup and meatballs.

If you embark on a Taiwan family trip to Jiufen, it’s recommended to pick up a teahouse and taste a cup of tea during the evening. Looking through the windows of a teahouse, you might seize the beautiful view that gathers cute residence houses settled on the verdant hill.

Shengping Theater (昇平戲院)

Stepping inside the theater, you might feel you would be transferred to the old Taiwan era; red wooden chairs, brick walls, antique filming machines, and the old-fashion style of the ticket counter. As a matter of fact, Shengping Theater, the first theater in New Taipei City, features the construction blended with Baroque architecture style, and several Taiwanese films, such as A City of Sadness (悲情城市) and A Borrowed Life (多桑), have shot scenes there.
