The moment we arrived at Jiufen, we went to the most famous vendors in Jiufen, Ah Gan Taro Balls. It offers traditional dessert, this place is literally a hidden gem. Upon ordering, we take our dessert and walk through narrow aisles simply by following neon signs for a spacious seating area with stunning scenery.

The scenery is combined with the vibes of Jiufen’s old street and the multiple stairs among the lane. By the way, the dessert consists of sweet taro balls, sweet potato balls, red bean, mung bean, etc and it’s available in hot/ iced version. Since it was raining hard and we were pretty cold at that time, Cindy and I opted for the hot one. Their taro and sweet potato balls are so good with a chewy bouncy taste. Combining the tasty dessert with Jiufen’s old street scenic view, it was my perfect time with Cindy in Jiufen. It is highly recommended that friends who like to travel in the suburbs can come to Jiufen, and you can also extend the trip to the Gold Museum, Shifen Waterfall, Teapot Mountain, and other attractions. Compared to downtown Taipei, this trip has mountains, and seas and the scenery is very attractive!
