We are a big family from America, including my grandpa and grandma. To the influence of my wife, Tina, who is a Taiwanese travel guide from Taiwan. Our family always wish to travel to Taiwan once a day, especially Jiufen, because the beauty of the Jiufen old street vibes and the multiple stairways among the tiny historic lane on the travel magazine always catch their eyes. Jiufen is a mountain town/ village in northeastern of Taiwan, which located in the east of Taipei. It is situated around an hour drive from Taipei. There are several transportation options, including driving yourself or taking a bus. Most of it requires you to transfer and change bus once or twice. Although we found a direct bus from Ximending to Jiufen with bus 965, which is the easiest option to go to Jiufen old street. However, the road to Jiufen was as difficult for us. Especially, to the silver-haired people in our family. Fortunately, to the favor of chartered tours and professional English-speaking guides, making our family tour easier to communicate and more convenient to transport to Jiufen. When we arrived at Jiufen, taking the elderly with limited mobility into consideration, we found a store, Amei tea house that we could take a seat for a long time and drinking the finest handmade tea with immersing ourselves in the historic antique scenery of Jiufen old street. We really had a wonderful time at the tea house. In brief, if you are looking for a place to have a fine handmade tea mixing with those old but gold vibes. I’ll recommend adding Jiufen to your part of Taipei day tour.
